I don't touch the first text, but I'm changing my request, due to confusing answers.
I'm asking now only for a design, to be more precise, a design idea. Some icons, banners and or color scheme (CSS) and logo.
We will work on the code on our side. I understand it's not a big budget, but what we first asked was for us only 3 hours of work.
So let's focus on design!

Hello Bonjour !

I'm building a web tool, very simple, but very useful. Instead of doing all the things and then asking someone to correct, I'll propose someone to make it from raw.

The website is a utility which is mostly a reminder. User go to the website, create a new reminder, with options, and then the website will remind the user back at the asked date.

It's targeted first for French speaking, but I wish to have a multi-language ready base, as we wish to add 4 languages really soon : French, English, German and Italian.

The steps are easy. On the main page you have a "+" (for example), then you can create a reminder. The user enter the target date in a calendar, a description and an email address, then click on create.

The website send an confirmation email to the user, with a link to activate the reminder (instead of captcha maybe ?). Opening the link gives an OK page. A second email is sent with a cancel link.

Technically, the first step create a record in the database, with all the infos, and auto incremental ID but also a random generated ID (quite long) which will be used for the email link, and a status (0=created,1=activated,2=sent,9=canceled).

A cron page will then be called every hour or so and send emails, updating the database.

This is the version 1.0 we want. All text can be provided in english if it's your primary language, but again with a translation ready structure. All displayed text have to be took from a text file or in the database. We normally prefer a browser detection for language with ability to change manually, but open for any options.

We want a great cool and funny design. For your proposal, no need to make the code, but of course if you win, you need to make all of this and working. But we wish to see the final design you propose : fun, friendly, easy, decent and coherent.
We prefer no text in images, because of translating.
We would love something responsive, of course, but we can imagine to have a mobile version with a different layout.

I'm totally able to correct the code and I'll work on it, so it should be perfectly documented in the code itself.

It have to stay simple and user friendly, as well as ready for future options.

If you win and make a good job, we will hire you again for intreating more options (based on a fix amount or hour paid).

OPTIONS WE WISH TO ADD SOON:
-In some country, SMS reminder : people could choose to receive an email and/or an SMS.
-Recurring reminders, with link to cancel of course.
-A more powerful date selection with smart advice :
"End of your phone contract : June 30. Delay of cancellation : 30 days."
So the the reminder is sent 60 days before the end of contract date.
-A mobile version as a WebApp
- Integrations with FaceBook, others, and some other ways to inform.
- It's possible we would like a member area. But this is complicate and finally not necessary for the moment.
- Other paying options
- Sponsored events reminder

Be creative ! We love ideas. But please, keep in mind than we ask for both code (PHP/MySQL and Database creation) and design. But we need something we can work and modify when done, for free, so you deliver something we own.

I'm really excited with this project, and I'm looking forward to look at your proposals. I really hope to find a good one, and I hope we can continue to work on this project for the next release.

Last days : please, imagine a 1-step registering : people enter date, email and description and that's it. They will receive email on time, but no account is created. They will maybe later be able to manage their reminder via links on the email, but the target is that they forgot about their insurance renewal date they will forgot about my website too. That's the point. The website will not forget them. Provide some funny icons or ideas, don't focus too much on the CSS. I was probably not clear with my description. We wish to work further with this project, which have to be NOT like others. Thanks !

  It's a nice design, but I would like something more funny, special, and the examples seems to show that people have an account. People will not have any account or registration step, only an email verification for each reminder.

  p.s. you can easy use text on images even if you wanna use it from TXT files or database. So i prefer use it on images in design

Hello People. A small update, I understand the worries about too much work for this. Let me clarify : for the proposal, I don't need anything working, just an image of 1 or 2 pages showing the looks you imagine. That's the most important part. All coding, I can make it myself too. What I need, is the idea from you, like if in Ajax or not, but if you think the design is enough work for the price, propose this. It's 100% OK for me, I can understand it's a good job. But if the design is 2 small gifs, I think it's not enough. I'll update the contest later to reflect this. Ideas will make the winner, even without providing the code. Thanks

your project is too detailed to be handled in a contest. No serious freelancer would put in all that effort in designing and coding all that functionality after which they will not be sure if they will get the job or not. i would advice you to split up ua requirements into smaller manageable pieces and run them as separate contests. If not, I think u will be better off assigning the job to one freelancer whom u can work with closely now that he/she will be assured of the pay. This thing is involving itell you.

Hello people. Basically, it almost 3 php pages and maybe a strings one. It's not a really long job. But I agree it's not a small one. That's why I'll find a way with the winner to give him a small add-on request for the same price again.
