Subject: Sociology Select two to three of the functions of education and schooling and apply them to your own educational experience. You may select your K–12 or your college experience. The important component of this assignment is to highlight your understanding of the sociological functions of education as well as to develop a sociological picture of your social world related to education to incorporate into your final project. Conclude your paper with the benefits that you have experienced related to your education and how it benefits you. While you may emphasize learning new skills in an educational setting, it is also important to denote some of the broader skills or soft skills you learned in a school setting. Functions of Education can be: Socialization, Future Preparation, Economic functions (economic development of society). • Since this is a self-analysis, you may write in first person using “I” statements. • Include an opening that includes a clearly stated thesis that sets the purpose of the paper. In this instance, the purpose is to compare the functions of education to your own experience. Also, be sure to briefly mention the topics that will be included in the paper. • Do not just tell about your experiences; analyze their impact on your life. Make strong connections between the functions of education and your life. • You must include a minimum of three specific applications of functions of education to your life, but to work towards top points, you should include four examples. • Be sure to explain the concepts (and cite them) and make clear applications between the concept and your experience. • Be sure to have a smooth flow between ideas and not just a set of isolated examples of your experiences. • Be sure to include a closing paragraph that summarizes your ideas and restates your thesis. Assignments must follow these formatting guidelines: double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and discipline-appropriate citations. Page length requirements: 3 pages. Per page: 8$
