Augmented reality GPS ghost car go kart

The goal of the system is to allow customers to improve their lap times by showing a ghost of themselves or of someone else who has performed a faster lap. Create a system that shows a racing line or a ghost 3d model model through an AR headset while driving on an actual race track. The purpose of the software is to ramp up the learning curve of drivers, ultimately leading them to near perfection of racetracks. Initial goal is to make it work at a go kart track. GPS position with throttle and brake information is available through the existing race computer(MYCHRON 5) on the kart but must be downloaded after each race as live updates via bluetooth or wifi are a restriction of the logger. The software will most likely utilise the ODG R-8 and R-9 headsets powered by the Snapdragon 835 and contain most sensors already available on mainstream phones except for cellular service. Throttle, brake, steering data are provided by a computer on the vehicle or gps data from the headset. The system must be flexible enough to work on other tracks. Only the ghost kart has to be modeled, no need to model a race track. Ghost kart will point in the direction of movement and the headset will use the compass+GPS to accurately place the ghost kart ahead of the driver in real life. Ghost kart must follow the best lap recorded by the kart computer or previous best lap and be visible from the AR headset and travel in real time to the person wearing the headset. A lap must be able to be split into different sectors and the best time through each sector is updated into the ghost lap. UI must flow well so that little to no training is required to operate and simple scaling to adapt the headset for positional accuracy.
