Responsibilities:
• Manage social media streams (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube) and related campaigns for the new social network website
• Run lead generation, marketing, and recruiting programs via social media
• Oversee company blog, including brainstorming topics, scheduling and writing posts, coordinating editing, coordinating images, etc.
• Manage, recommend, and write blog entries, posts and tweets in a company's name and as a third party
• Publicize various other content including videos, events, press releases, etc.
Qualifications:
• 1+ years social media, advertising, or PR experience
• First-hand experience in BOATING, YACHTING, WATER SPORTS
• Familiar with current social media trends and tools
• Comfortable with scheduling tools
Required skills:
• Outgoing personality - you must be comfortable communicating to strangers
• Writing skills – a background in journalism or experience with writing helps
• Social media experience – experience with social media tools is a must. You must have experience posting with WordPress and understand Twitter, Facebook and other social platforms for business
• Interest in Boating, Yachting, Cruising, Water sports and travel – a Community Manager needs to be passionate about this.
• Willingness to work around the clock –The job involves working some evenings and weekends, and responding to community members outside of work hours
• Good record-keeping, reporting creative thinking – You must be good in: time management, multitask, intelligence, working under pressure, reporting to management
• PR experience – having experience with public relations is a nice to have
• Culture fit - you must understand and follow ethics of the boating community, know the terminology and slang.
• Education – Preferences to those with degree in communications or English, or someone with a PR or corporate communications certificates
