Length: 2500 words maximum, excluding references Style: essay I would appreciate a well written but easy to understand essay that could help me get a fair grade for this task. I do not want it to be too academic and hard to understand as I am an international student and need to give a presentation on the essay in a couple of weeks. There is some useful information about the essay as PDF attached. You are expected to use approximately 13-15 different sources (for example, articles, chapters in edited collections and books). Task: Choose one of the topics from the list below and write an essay answering the task set out in the topic descriptions. Once you have decided which topic you will write about, then look at the Starter Sheet for a list of references (or sources) to start. [The Starter Sheet is attached]. You are free to choose between any of these 3 topics: Topic 1: Why do we have protected areas? What are some of the key issues identified in the management of protected areas? What insights can these perspectives contribute to the establishment and management of protected areas in the future? Topic 2: In what ways do society-water relations reflect the uneven distribution of power in society? Topic 3: With reference to various examples, discuss how ‘natural’ disasters are socially constructed? This Assessment Task relates to the following Learning Outcomes: 1. Understand some of the main historical and contemporary contexts of environmental issues in Australia and their connection to global events and perspectives 3.
