DirectShow filter for WMV files

We have DirectShow filter where class CXtalViDImpl is realised: class CXtalViDImpl : public CAsyncReader , public IFileSourceFilter , public IAMFilterMiscFlags , public IAMOpenProgress , public IAMMediaContent also we have CFileStream class: class CFileStream: public CAsyncStream, where Read method is redefined. So we read file asynchronously and render it as we need. If we register this filter for avi files via HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Media Type\Extensions\.avi as "Source Filter" it is applied in every player we tried. But if we register filter for wmv (or asf) files it is applied in all the players except standard Microsoft Windows Media one. Strange thing but if we change extension of WMV file from .wmv to .avi it is played successfully in WMP with our filter. Does it mean WMP applies filter on the assumption of file extension? As we understand WMP builds it's own graph with it's own source filter, and it doesn't need any other filter to play native wmv files. So we need a solution which will allow us to apply our filter to WMV files in the Windows Media Player. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
