We are a software developer of commercial products for the CNC, Sign and Print industries and are seeking a C Programmer to assist us modify an existing open source utility. The successful candidate must have the following skills and experience: • C Programmer • Having experience programming in Delphi would be an advantage. Note: If you do not have experience with programming in C your application will not be considered. Project Overview: This project is to take an existing open source program, and create a DLL interface that exposes the internal structures of this program, and will require several modifications. All changes made to the existing source must be clearly marked with comments. The library is written in portable "C" and does not make use of any C++ objects. This project requires a good understanding of the Windows GDI+ and bitmap graphics, along with the ability to create a large DLL wrapper to provide the required interface. Some of the libraries this program uses include "FreeType", and "LibJpg", and would involve for example: returning the glyph data for selected characters of a given font, in the form of either quadratic or cubic Bezier curves. Only candidates who supply a covering letter addressing the specific requirements listed above and including a remuneration expectation (rate per hour) along with a resume will be considered. This is a small project, however, if a candidate can complete this task successfully it may lead to more contract work in this and any other areas of the candidate’s competence.

Hi, I’m software and database developer with more than 30 years experience. In the past 20 years I have worked (full-time, in-situ) for two international organizations (Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission, in San Diego, CA, USA, and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, in Victoria, Seychelles). I'm currently retired, and doing some freelancing to stay busy and up-to-date in the area. I have extensive experience with C, Delphi (more than 30 years working with both languages), Windows API, and developing stubs for DLL libraries using C and Delphi. I also have done a fair amount of work with B-Splines. To be honest, I don't have any experience with the FreeType library specifically (I do with TTFs), or programming CNC machinery, but I don't think it would be any harder than programming other machines (e.g. I have written programs to handle money counting and deposit hardware, among others). Not having the complete specs and the original code it's hard to make a solid offer, so my bid is for 20 days of my full-time dedication to your project.
