Arduino code modification

I need arduino code to be modified. My current code does the following:

There are points with coordinates stored in arrays numbersX[], numbersY[], numbersZ[]. In code the point moves in random trajectory along nearest coordinates XY, avoiding certain values of Z coordinates. I need the code to be modified where point should move by some pattern( not in random directions, but to same direction like previous move or to the nearest point in that direction). The best way to explain the pattern is to look at the sketch ([login to view URL]):

We start move from certain point – let’s say from point stored in array numbersX[10], numbersY[10]. We move point to random direction to nearest point ( on the example to 16). From here we need to use the same pattern all the way. the pattern is - we move point to the same direction or to the nearest point in that direction( in example to 22 or 21 or 23). If point moves to 21, then the next possible moves are the same direction to the point 26 or to the points 20 or 27. This pattern should be used in all code. In case the point reaches the outer edge ( point 27), then we move point to 26 or 28. If point reaches outer corner ( point 24), we move point to 18 or 25 and so on.

I will provide my existing code later to winner of this project to start modification.
