No matter what your age, race or style are, we want to look good and feel good at the same time; clothes, accessories, hairstyles and the works. People invests time and money to look good and feel good about themselves. The styles of shoes and clothes change rapidly; considering the weather and your geographical location but hairstyles or "hair accessorizing." is not binded by such. The latest craze is feather hair extensions. Where it came form, no one exactly knows, it could've come from the Early Indian Americans who uses feathers of different birds as headdress but the likes of Ke$ha and Lady Gaga showing off this style is good enough to be a craze. The demand for these long feathers are bred with not normal chickens or some use peacock feathers. These chickens are taller so the feathers on their backbone doesn't touch the ground and grows longer than of a regular chicken. These are the same feathers use for fly fishing, even bait shops nowadays, run out of stocks because of the demand for these feathers. These feather hair extensions can be styled just like your normal hair, you can tie, dye, iron or curl it. The choice of color depends on how much you want it to be seen, it could pass like a normal salon highlights: near your hair color and almost the same length as your real hair or you could go bold, using bright colors like neon green, fiery red or hot pink.
To attach feather hair extensions is quite easy, you can do it at the comforts of your own home as long as you have a hair nook, needle nose pliers and hair extension micro links or beads. You can get these beads from salon supply centers and can by it by bunch. There are some online shops that sells it as kits. Quite expensive if you buy it in pieces but then more convenient and you get to choose the tools that you need. Put a micro link or bead on your hair hook, then choose a small portion of hair that you want to attach your feather. Loop the hair on the hair loop then slide the bead and put in your feather. You can attach at least one feather, depending on your preference. Hold it firmly to put it in place, then tighten the bead or micro link using the needle nose pliers to bind your hair and feather together. Avoid tugging it unless you're certain that you locked it firmly. You can attach as much feather hair extensions as you want in different portions of you head for a more unique look but be careful because you don't want to look like chicken that escaped from a coop. Afterwards, you can trim it, color it, curl it or style it the way you want. These feathers are also safe for washing and ironing thus it doesn't limit your style. To take it off, you just have to carefully unclamp the bead or mircro link and you could reuse the feather.
If you have short hair, you can attach it on top or side of your head for better visibility. If you have long hair, it's advisable to put it on the side. The color of the feather can vary; it could be a color near your natural hair color or something out of this world. For example you have black hair, you could attach a light brown feather or burgundy. It would look like normal salon highlights but if you want more untradiotional, you could try red, purple, apple green or your favorite color. You dont have to limit putting just one feather, it depends on what your style. There are some who prefers the feather to be longer that their real hair length. Style it and it would definitely look fabulous. That's fine, this is another way to express yourself and look good at the same time. Try this with your friends, it's not limited to just your grlfriends. Men can also try it. This would look like a bleached hair but in a different color that bleach doesn't offer. This style adds "oomph" to your look.
