Data Entry Project for Nutritional Website

Data Entry Specifications: We have a distributor that carries around 4300 items that we need to have set up and ready to go on our website before Apr 2nd. We have one person that will be working on the products as well, so you will receive a specific list of manufacturers to go through. There are around 3000 that are left to be done. We use Zen Cart as our shopping cart, and all instructions will be provided. In short, we need to get the product descriptions from the manufacturer's website, and from our distributors website and input all of the information about the item in a pleasing format. Info about the items will include title, price, description, image, weight, etc. Please make sure that you have adequate time to complete this project before bidding. Below is an excerpt of the Instructions that you will receive that details every step that is involved. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I will begin a walkthrough example for the first product. [login to view URL] the manufacturer 4ever Fit in the Europa Catalog and click on it. At the top left of the page, you’ll see a link that says “See all 52.” Click on that link to see all the items by the manufacturer in one page. [login to view URL] on the first product at the top, which is the R+ALA 100mg 60 Caps. You will see three gray boxes in the middle of the page. Look for the middle one where is says “Category >> “ and find the category that corresponds with the category on the Zen Cart Admin. In this case, it’s in the Sport Performance category. [login to view URL] to the Zen Cart Admin and click on the Sport Performance category. Scroll to the bottom of the page if nEuropa Catalogessary and click on the button, “New Product.” Disregard the first two fields, Product Status, and Date Available. Go dirEuropa Catalogtly to Products Manufacturer, and for this example, click on the drop down list and selEuropa Catalogt 4ever Fit. [login to view URL] down on the new product info, we see Products Name. So we need to go back to the Europa Catalog, and look in the middle gray box again, and we find the products name “R + ALA, 100 mg, Capsules” although it’s not entirely complete. We need to remove the commas (,) and add the size of the bottle in capsules, so that the final title looks like this: “R + ALA 100 mg 60 Capsules” [login to view URL] go back to the Zen Cart Admin New Product page and skip the next four fields, Product is Free, Product is Call for Price, Product Priced by Attributes, and Tax Class. All of these fields are already filled corrEuropa Catalogtly. [login to view URL] next two fields (Products Price Gross | Net) operate the same, so if you enter a value in either box, it copies the value to the other. We are setting all of the items up at 5% above the Wholesale Price for an item, which is found in the top box in the middle of the page. For this item, the Wholesale Price is $13.98, so we times that by 1.05 and that gives us $14.68. We want to round up to the nearest .99 though, so we would set the price at $14.99. [login to view URL], skip all of the fields until you come to the Product Description. We would like to have the manufacturer's description before the description that is on the Europa Catalog, so I went to [login to view URL] to look up the homepage for the manufacturer that we're working with, 4everfit. I found it at [login to view URL], and clicked on products. If you cannot locate the homepage of the manufacturer, please let me know so that I can find the appropriate information for you. I located the R+ALA that we're creating, and opened it. I wanted to get as much of the plain text that I could get, but we only want to get the text that is related to the product, so I skipped the info in the middle of the page, and just grabbed what was around it. Just copy the text, go back to the Zen Cart Admin and paste it into the description box. It should retain the previous format. [login to view URL] that we've got the information from the manufacturer's website, we go back to the Europa Catalog, and click on the center tab titled Nutritional Info. This will pull up the nutritional facts that we need, plus a few more details about the product. If you look below the packaging details, you will see where it says “Details.” Below that it will usually say “Dietary Supplement.” We want to copy everything that's after that, all the way down to the dirEuropa Catalogtions. You can stop before you get to the part that says: “PLEASE NOTE: ...” Then just paste all of that into the description box. [login to view URL], skip the Products Quantity box, and leave it set to 0. Go back to the Europa Catalog, and look dirEuropa Catalogtly below the picture, and you will see “Stock Code #:.” Highlight the number that follows and copy it. Right click on the picture, and then click Save As... Put in the stock code that you copied, and save the picture with the stock code number. Then go back to the Zen Cart Admin, and in the Products Model box, paste the stock code number. [login to view URL] the box below the Products Model: box, you'll see the Products Image box. Click on Browse... next to the box, and find the dirEuropa Catalogtory that you saved the image previously. You can paste the stock code number in the box and it should come up with the image file with the extension, and then click open. [login to view URL], go back to the Europa Catalog, and look in the Packaging Details box. The very last column says Weight, and it gives the weight in ounces. Since the weight for the Zen Cart is measured in pounds, we'll need to convert it. To do this, we take the weight in ounces, and divide it by 16. For this item, the weight is shown as 2.08 oz., so 2.08 divided by 16 gives us 0.13. Go to the products weight on the Zen Cart Admin and put in 0.13. [login to view URL] skip the last box that says Sort Order, and click on the button that says “Preview.” It will show a preview of the item that you've created. Scroll to the bottom of the preview page, and click on the button that says update. This will take you back to the category that you created the item in. If your next item is in a different category, then you will need to click on the button that says “Back” to get to the other categories. [login to view URL] back to the Europa Catalog, and either go back until you see the list of items by manufacturer, or click on the logo for the manufacturer and that should take you to the same place. Find the next item on the list and just repeat the steps that are listed to complete the catalog. Once you are finished with a manufacturer, click on the link on the Europa Catalog that says “Catalog Home” and go to the next manufacturer. That should be all of the steps that are included.
