I want to take a 10 DOF chip to communicate the movement of a skateboard to a receiver which will determine what the skateboard did. This project will also require two sensors that will be able to clip to shoes and determine which foot is on the front of a skateboard and if the feet are on the board.

Greetings, Interesting project indeed. I think I can get you this up and running. I have relevant expertise in Sensing (IMU, Gyros, Acc, Mag, Baro etc.), Circuit design, Battery management, Embedded systems, PCB design, Bluetooth which I think are all required here. Please see my portfolio for more details. However it would be important to discuss out the details before moving forward. Things like the IMU, battery life, communication mode etc. all need to be sorted out if not already done. If I am not mistaken you had posted this project earlier also (or may be a similar one by somebody else) - so hopefully we have something to start off with. ----------- You need a demo of working system? I can do with skates here. ------------ I am doing this with a golf club with 10 DOF. The project was posted 5 times on freelancer and elsewhere by Mr. Bill. Everybody has failed so far in that project, I will send you the project link where he mentioned how nobody could do it, paid upfront to every one getting no working product. I finally made the core work according to requirement in a week and it stream data really fast. I have got the wirless transmission with logging too. For your project the delivery will be done in 48 hours, it is almost same device.

Hello. May I ask you to explain what "determine what the skateboard did" means? That may be a big part of the job and I would like to know more details to propose the final price and timeline. Also, If all you need is sending of that data and the movement will be used in some external software - the price may be much lower. Your additional task is simple. I would use an RFID reader and 2 tags, fixed on the feets (by some rubber ring or velcro). If you need to understand if the foot is really stays (i.e., press) on the board - you may need to add 1 or 2 pads with push-switches.

For this project arduimu can be used and 2 RFID modules one in front amd the other on the back of the board and data can be sent via Bluetooth module.

I made something similar for my license degree. Used a small car instead of a skateboard but same principles apply. Measured motion(acceleration) using an accelerometer sensor on x,y,z and derived into speed, distance. Also with a more fancy sensor you can measure rotation along those axes aswell( I can make some recommandations). So 6 DOF so far, the rest of 4(to sum 10 as you said) coming from the wheels i supose. This gets complicated with mounting the encoders on the wheels but can be done. The wireless communication can be done cheap if you want to transmit in less than 100m range and the data flow is relatively small. Im not sure I understand how you want the sensor on the shoes to detect which feet is on the skate.I supose force sensors on the bottom of the shoes? I will deliver the code and the schematics for wiring the components. Also I have experience only with Arduino if that's ok. Its cheap and offers integrations of many sensors. You can also run modification alot faster.

Hi, I am embedded systems designer with very good experience of using 10 dof chips like MPU9250 and would love to work on this project. Recently have done a project with MPU9250 and GPS unit to make a sensor to be placed inside a football to gather data of ball movement in the play field to map different graphs for further analyzation. I also make Android applications to connect to the designed hardware containing sensors and obtain data wirelessly( I use bluetooth or wifi) to record, display and analyze the data. regards, Ali
