Hello, I believe my skills and experience will come in handy for this project. I have worked on a lot of logo design projects before (although my portfolio shows only a few because of agreements with clients to not showcase completed works). I enjoy designing logos, specially pictorial/symbolic logos (which as I understand is the direction you want to go with) but I do fine with logotype. As is my usual practice, I will give you several concepts to choose from. Most, if not all of the concepts will work well in color, monochrome and black & white.
