Build an e-Commerce Website with Product Customizer Module

A successful project looks like… A professional and artful website that visually represents the ethos of our company; demonstrates our top-quality, custom made in Seattle products; effectively uses SEO to attract potential buyers; optimizes user experience; and helps close the deal through increased sales. We are a sustainability-focused company that creates bags from old marketing banners (keeping them out of landfills) while hiring and training homeless, ex-felons, refugees, vets, and other down-on-luck individuals to help them prosper. Our aesthetic is edgy and fresh, urban meets nature, very much like Seattle itself. Our bags range from rock climbing to yoga to biking to messenger. The website will include a bag customizer, similar to: [login to view URL] The trick of this is identifying how to visually represent marketing banners that we use, which are all different and much larger than the bags themselves. The timeline for this project is to be completed by September 2014. Where I’m at now… I created the current website for my company – [login to view URL] – so I know a little something about web design. I’ve already purchased the new domain that I’d like to migrate the site to: www.dolomitebags.com. I have taken all photos used for our website so far (look at the V13 bouldering bag on our website for my best photos) and will provide all photos for the new website. I have a DSLR and can provide high-resolution photos. I’ve done a lot of thinking about what I want the website to look like and have some well thought-through ideas that I will share to get us started quickly. What I’m attracted to… I don’t know quite how to put words to what I like about these things, but I know that I feel a connection and attraction when I see them. This should provide good insight on what I’m looking for. [login to view URL] - as stated above, this is a necessity What makes you the right candidate… Responsiveness and communication – I don’t want to wait more than 3 days to a response via email or phone. While I understand that you have other clients that you’re working with, I don’t want to feel like I’m on your back burner. Proven track record – I’d like to see your portfolio of other websites that you’ve designed, and preferably something similar to the bag customizer that you’ve built. While I’m willing to take a risk on a less-proven designer, I would expect an appropriate bid per experience level. Demonstration that you’ve reviewed our existing website – [login to view URL] shows all of the products that we currently have, and the pages and other details that currently exist. By reviewing this, you will gain a good perspective on what you’re starting with. Project management – While I don’t need an overly-detailed timeline, I would like to know key milestone dates and when I can expect what to happen. The first step would be a meeting to discuss in more detail the website, what I’m looking for, and the process. Seattle candidates would be ideal, as I like face-to-face meetings when possible.
