Build a Website

This project is to create a website for an organisation that works with at-risk underprivileged children in New Delhi. The programme inculcates crucial life skills, and gives these children access and exposure to quality experiences through community music learning. The current website can be viewed here: [login to view URL] The project can be broken into two components: graphic and web design. Please present an approach and collective quote. However, you are also welcome to present a quote only for the website design, in which case I will commission a different graphic designer to create the necessary illustrations and graphic elements. Details below. Timeline: The website needs to be ready in 5 weeks from now on April 20. The primary goal: of the website is for visitors to understand the programme and its importance in the children’s lives. The primary audience is donors, other organisations who want to learn from this model and interested musicians and individuals. The call to action: The primary call to action is “Getting Involved” with the organisation after understanding the music basti model which will be linked to a contact form. However, based on the time of the year the focussed Call to Action will change. From May to July the focus will be on recruiting musician teachers. At another point it will be to showcase the yearly video on the organisation. Therefore, the most prominent panel needs to be easily editable to make these changes as needed. This is the only part of the website which will required to be edited periodically i.e. 2-4 times a year. Key Components/Pages: 1. Given the main purpose of the website it will be focussed on the narrative of Music Basti’s work. A good example of such a story approach is [login to view URL] I am looking for a slightly simpler version with more prominent buttons for the various sections of the website. Another reference website is [login to view URL]: If we used something like this, I would put the current call to action for eg "apply to volunteer" or" Get in touch" or "Watch video" on the left panel. All of the elements of the website should be visible and accessible intuitively. 2. A Map: I would like an illustrated map of Delhi to highlight the locations of the Music Basti enters. The main icons/elements of the map will be based on the locations of the centres. The idea of the map is also to invoke the sense of a musical basti (settlement or township). Reference illustrations are attached below. 3. About Page: the main focus here will be a timeline of milestones of the organisation from when it was founded in 2008 until now. 4. Team: A photo of team members and a brief write up. 5. Testimonials/Experience: A space for photos, video and impact stories for someone who wants a more detailed understanding of the organisation. Tone: Simple, Emotional and Positive ( but not Casual) Look and Feel: Invoke the idea of a basti - a bustling Delhi hub/community. Colourful, with illustrated elements and icons from the map that can be used across the site Colour scheme - The main colours will be derived from the logo. Attached in the files below. In your proposal and quote please include a brief on how you would approach the project. Ideally I would like at least two design concepts before moving forward with a chosen design.
