Build a Website

You are required to produce a website that acts as an electronic portfolio for your work. Requirement Notes Topic Website An electronic portfolio for your work, written in HTML5 and CSS. Content A minimum of: 1. Your literature review, marked up in HTML. 2. A work log describing the work you’ve undertaken in WebF1 over the year. 3. A short (5­10 seconds), self­made video that works on the current version of all major desktop browsers5 . It can be a screen or phone capture. 4. An image. Your literature review should be comprehensively marked up – merely including a link to a non­HTML version is not suitable! All pages must: 1. be marked up using valid semantic HTML5 (i.e aim for descriptive and not procedural markup). 2. include a link to the W3C validator ( [login to view URL] ) enabling readers to check that the referring page is valid. 3. be formatted using CSS ­ i.e. form and content are separated. Navigation It should be clear (e.g. through a structured menu) how your site could be expanded to showcase your other works as you progress through your course. The pages must be linked. You must provide a means of usable and accessible navigation for your content. Value 30% The grade awarded for this work will make up 30% of your final mark for this unit. Submission VM and Moodle You will upload your site to your virtual machine and also submit a ZIP copy of the files to moodle. The maximum ZIP size accepted will be 100MB. Assessor Your Peers You will assess your peers, and your peers will assess your work. Markers will be chosen at random. 5 We shall use the latest versions of browsers that are installed on university machines at the time of assessment: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer
