Design/draw four concepts for a steampunk/retro clockwork game dice
$30-250 USD
Pagado a la entrega
I need drawings or illustrations of four different concepts for gaming dice, as might be used in a steampunk setting. The key is that the "dice" should be needlessly more complex than a simple six-sided die, and incorporate some type of clockwork mechanism. Obviously I don't care how such a thing would or could function mechanically, I'm just looking for an aesthetic design that looks the part.
Must haves:
- The dice should be more-or-less cubic and similar in size to standard dice - protrusions from the general cubic shape are fine, and encouraged, in order to add to the aesthetic feel. Things like gears/screw heads/whatever that poke out a bit are fine.
- Instead of numbers/symbols on each face, the dice should indicate the rolled number with a drum/dial/other mechanical indicator, powered by some internal clockwork mechanism, and visible through the "top" face visible through the top face of the die.
- On the four vertical sides of the dice there should be some folding/collapsing/extending/whatever feature which, if the die was laying on its side, would pop out and cause the dice to roll over so it was "upright" again. Again powered by some unseen clockwork. These features should be embellished, of course, to fit the aesthetic.
- The usual steampunky materials and feel are encouraged. Brass, leather, dark woods, black iron, etc.
- All four designs should be, broadly, steampunk, however feel free to take liberties. Ideally each design would have a different feel while retaining the basic setting; i.e. one which is perhaps very industrial like a steam engine, another which was more feminine and added elements of victorian dress, another which was more formal and suggested a cozy library or study, etc. Up to you, of course.
- Please provide drawings or sketches which show the design of both the top and side faces of the dice, as well as the "pop out" features in both the open and closed positions. I care about the design itself, not the actual drawings, so use whatever medium or technique is appropriate to convey the design.
See attached drawing for an example of what I'm talking about. Obviously I hope you're better at this kind of thing than I am, so your design should be a bit more detailed and more strongly suggest the aesthetic. You're free to use similar features or go in a completely different direction.
