Convert a C# Windows Mobile application to Java Android

We want to convert a C# application, developed as a Smart Device Project using VS 2008 Pro and targeted at Windows Mobile 6, to Java so that it can run on Android phones (specifically Samsung Galaxy X cover 2). User specification of the original system is attached – there were some additions made to the original specification but these were not major and details will be provided later. All existing C# source code will be available and is to act as the full specification of the project. The original C# application was written in 2004 and was the first such development undertaken and so is relatively straightforward. The application is used by drivers collecting and disposing of clinical waste. It has the following features. • The list of collections (a Run) to be made by the driver is downloaded as a tab-delimited text file from an FTP site. • The driver may have multiple Runs on his device at one time. • The driver will record the following details o Run start details  Mileage  Time o Collection details  Arrival time  Collection quantities  Signature and name  Failure reason o Disposal details  Disposal Site  Arrival time  Disposal quantities o Run finish details  Mileage  Time  Fuel used. • The driver will be prompted to upload details after they have been specified. • The details that the driver records will be uploaded as tab-delimited files to an FTP site • Details of drivers, vehicles, collection container types, etc, will be downloaded as tab-delimited text files from an FTP site. • It is possible to send messages to drivers (these are downloaded from the FTP site) • The application can be easily installed / upgraded from an installation file (not from an App Store) The major problem areas from the original development were, • Signature capture – captured as a vector map • FTP transfers One required enhancement is the automatic upload, as a background task, of details specified by the driver. The successful bidder will have C# and Java/Android experience. Ideally they would have access to VS 2008 Pro (or an equivalent) so that they could actually run the current system. Our knowledge of Android screen design is minimal so we would expect the developer to design the screen but we would then need to review and change these designs as required. The resulting application must be maintainable using the Eclipse IDE and must be completed before 7th June 2014. Logos Computer Systems Ltd will have full ownership of the resulting Source Code and there will be no restrictions as to us amending and maintaining it.
