Conversion of ANY PDF file to a ‘Web Friendly’ XPS Format

Goal: To produce a dot net assembly containing a routine that converts any given PDF file to a subset of the XPS file format (Hereon referred to as an XOD file format).
An XOD file is effectively a web friendly XPS file containing a blurred image that shows instantaneously and is then replaced by the clear image as soon as the available broadband bandwidth permits. Renaming the XOD extension to XPS should allow the “Clear” image to be viewable in Microsoft XPS viewer whereas renaming the extension to ZIP would display the raw content of the file in a zip file viewer.

To use the above demo:
1) Browse for a PDF file on your system using the “Browse…” button located in the bottom Left hand corner of the screen.
2) After selecting the PDF file, click on the “Upload PDF & Download XOD” button.
3) You will be presented with a dialog asking you to open or save the XOD file that has just been converted from PDF. Choose the “Save As” option and choose a location and filename that you will be able to remember.
4) After saving the file, locate the file using the “Browse…” button located in the bottom Right hand corner of the screen.
5) Click the “Upload and View XOD” button. This should then display the content of the file in a web friendly way (Instant blurred image followed by the clear image once it is available).
The goal is to write a dot net assembly that will carry out steps 1,2 & 3 above only, and for the resultant file to display correctly when subjected to steps 4 & 5 above.
