I am busy with a small project to create search friendly URLs for products administered through a content management system.
I am learning about mod_rewrite, .htaccess and a permalink field in the product table.
I don't seem to get it right and I would like to get quotations to accomplish this.
But first an overview, I have five main categories with subcategories and a list of products in each subcategory.
I'm using some technology for a page background that needs to store the background image in the root directory of the website. If they are subdirectories I also need to include these images into the subdirectories. To prevent this, i am going to have all the sub-directory pages within the route of the website.
For better search engine optimisation I would like the URL to indicate the following:
I am aware that in the rewrite rule you can set the pattern to include the product category, the sub-category and then extract the product name which is stored in the permalink field of the database, and using a recordset to extract this and display it in the URL.
Kindly provide a quotation to do three main categories each with three subcategories and each with three products. So a total of 27 products. I will provide FTP details to the server and MySQL database.
The quotation must include a tutorial with step-by-step process and comments.
And lastly the quotation must also include an hour to chat over Skype and answer my questions about what I do not understand.
