Create a 3D file converter (text based point cloud file to OBJ file)

You are required to create a small Windows (Windows XP 32bit) Executable file that will do the following task: Open a text based point cloud file, file-extension CAD (see file format specifications below) and convert it to standard "Alias Wavefront OBJ" file format or 3DS (3D Studio Max) file format. I don't have file specifications for these, but you should be able to find it on wikipedia or via google. ___ Details. The CAD files are a text based point cloud format. Point cloud means the file contains a lot of points in 3D space. Each point is therefore defined via 3 coordinates. A file may contain 200.000 to 2.000.000 points. Your tool should be able to handle this workload and the resulting very large output file. I don't have a file format specification, but I can supply as many CAD files as you like. You can open them with a text-editor and view them. One CAD file is attached to this bid request. Your converter should: 1) open the file 2) understand the position of each point in space XYZ 3) out of each point, create a pyramid with four vertices 4) output this in Alias Wavefront OBJ format or 3DS file format (you decide) I don't need a fancy GUI, a command line tool or drag and drop the cad file onto the executable is completely fine.
