We have a project at the moment in the high-tech sector
which involves the design, development and coding of a high
performance C++ compiler plugin for Microsoft Visual Studio.
The project will require the compilation of specific parts
of C++ code for an ultra high performance chip with a high
degree of hardware parallelism. Specifically, the tasks for
this project include the following:
- Take arbitrary C++ source code as input and generate
binaries that can execute on the chipset for the functions
that need to be accelerated. These functions will be
specified under NDA. The chipset in question will be loaned
to the development team on a PCI-E form factor card.
- Design this functionality as a plugin for Microsoft’s
Visual Studio, so that all compilation functionality can be
controlled from a familiar programmer interface
- Enable code parallelization, where it is appropriate and
possible, as part of the compilation process
We are looking for developers or a development team with the
following skills:
- OO code parsing and compilation expertise, specifically
C++
- Familiarity with programming high performance ASICs in C
(chipset libraries are in C)
- Experience with code parallelization strategies
- Experience with writing Visual Studio plugins
We are NOT looking for website developers who feel that they
can tackle this project. Please only bid if you can provide
examples of your work in this area.
This project is one with significant technical skill
requirements, but will likely lead to followup work and a
longtime collaboration.
