Data collection or scraping

I am interested in collecting data from some documents generated by a specific Working Group in the Internet Engineering Task Force. This would require crawling through an initial list of 136 hyperlinks in the attached document. Each link will take you to an individual Document, e.g., [login to view URL] And for each document, there will be one or more Versions (e.g., 00, 01, 02,...,RFC4035), each with a corresponding unique URL. Once each version of the documents are identified, for each version of the document there will be one or more AuthorName(s). For each AuthorName of each version of each document, I need to create the following record: URL Category (if available, e.g., 'Informational', 'Best Practice') Status (e.g., 'Internet-Draft' or 'Request for Comments') PublishDate (usually listed below authors) ExpireDate AuthorName CompanyName (if available for AuthorName, usually listed below AuthorName) DocumentTitle (usually below header information in bold) Abstract E.g., with the document URL above (i.e., version -09), there would be 5 records created. In total, I anticipate a few thousand records. Output can be in a simple delineated txt file for import into other applications. As you will see if you peruse the list of hyperlinks, there is some variation in the presentation of data in the documents. Given this, I am uncertain if a screen scraper will be capable of doing the work with quality results, however you are welcome to propose one. You may also propose that the job be done by manual entry. In either case, I expect quality results. Thanks for your help. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform If you choose to create a program for screen scraping, I do not have a preference on script language. However, I must be able to run the script on the Mac OS platform.
