I have an idea for a website/service that I would like developed and would like to know how much it would cost to have it developed.
As a technician, we receive a high volume of emails nightly. However, there are times some emails are not sent and I am not aware until a few days, weeks or month has passed!
It will be nice to be able configure one service that confirms emails were sent and it will be able to send a single email which gives me a report on whether the configured email i am looking for was sent or not.
Example usage: 30 Emails are usually received nightly. A user will configure a monitor for each, specifying a schedule to send the email report to and to whom.
The purpose is to help persons not to miss important emails, manage high volume of important emails that they need to be sure they receive.
The Website Features:
Provides a service which allows persons to set up monitors which will verify if an email/notification is received or not. It will send an email with a report (on a schedule specified by the user) the status of each email monitor that was set up.
It will show you on a calender grid the status of each monitor by day, week and month for each monitor you set up.
It will allow you to purchase the ability to set up more monitors. Example, the free user will be able to setup up to 10 monitors, then you can purchase the ability to set up an unlimited amount of monitors for $5 monthly.
It will accept payment by credit card, paypal, google checkout etc.
If CRM can be implemented, it will be great.
Implementation:
This will be up to you to let me know what is the best course of action to implement the features but I believe for the website to be able to monitor users emails, it will either be done one of 2 ways:
1. When users sign up, they will get a "mailbox". The user will then have to add this address in their necessary mailing list. My website will then check this internal address for the emails (on the schedule specified). Then it will send the report to whatever address the user specified.
or
2. Users will specify an external address, with the necessary log in details (a gmail or hotmail address) where the website will log in and check for specified emails. Then send reports on whether the emails were received or not.
Option 2 I believe is less desirable because users will have to give access to their personal email accounts unless we specify they create/designate a specific address that they do not use personally.
I am available to discuss the project and to clarify any questions you may have.
If successful, I will want to expand into a mobile application which you will be able to see the status of each monitor on the go.
