Desk Mess Theme

Hello, I am creating a WordPress blog and would like to use the Desk Mess theme.? However, the theme is difficult to work with and it is not search-engine optimized.? I could just go with a different theme, but before giving up, I want to see if I can find someone who? knows how to manipulate some of the images in this theme (I want to replace an existing image in the montage with a different image) and who also knows SEO aspects associated with Word Press.? Also need your help evaluating whether Desk Mess is? appropriate for my purposes? because I want to do certain things (create a members-only area where people must pay to get in, give visitors the opporunity to buy my book).? Can those things? be done with a simple plug-in or are there complications using the Desk Mess theme in that way?

On the "resources" page, I want to find a way to have links to different lists? of resources, rather than just one straight list.? For example, I want one list of "resources for grad students and PhDs," another list of "resources for faculty," etc.--but I want all of those to be shown under the one Resources link, as opposed to each having its own link.

I also want to be able to change my mind about what specific content belongs in the members-only content area.? There is a collection of archived material that may or may not get put in the? members-only area.? If I choose NOT to hide it there, then it will need to go somewhere else on the site.
