adding affiliate modulw

I need to add an affiliate moduele to an exsisting website, I think it is php, but was done through somebody else, I need to get an affiliate module added to the site to use as a marketing tool obviously for my client, I am inclined to think it might be better to perhaps re-create the site in Joomla possibly, would prefer advice from experts regarding this.

Is it better to add an affiliate module to an exsisting site or re-create site with support backend from the begining again?
