I have an Access 97 Database where I store records about client boxes held in my store. What I need to be be able to is:- Enter a new record, once complete the system should produce a bar code with using the ClientID | Location | BoxID fields. I should be able to print this off and stick it on the box. As I have never used bar code before I need someone to tell me how the system might work, I am planning on buying a hand-held bar coder that stores upto 500 bar codes. I am presuming once these are stored I can go to my system, download them and the system will automatically updte the records as IN, OUT or destroyed, quite how, I don't know? The bottom line is I need to automate my store by scanning the bar codes of the boxes, some may be leaving my store to go to clients, others may be comming into my store for storage for the first time, or some may be beign returned (they may be being returned as they have been out at the client and I have stored them previously). As I stated, I don't have any experience in bar coding so will need advice from the potential coder as to how they plan to develop the system and give me an idea of how it will work.
