Convert RSS to XML

Hi, I have some RSS feeds with additional fields in the description field enclosed by CDATA. I want to import them by using a Wordpress tool [login to view URL] but this can't 'see' the additional fields as the are encoded by the CDATA. So it doesn't recognize the additional fields as seperate elements. What I want is to be able to import those additional fields as seperate elements. I think this can be done the following way but you can propose otherwise. Convert the RSS feed to an XML file where the additional fields within the RSS description fields are XML elements. Probably by a PHP script. If it is possible I would like to use the PHP as the url. The WP All Import plugin has a function: Get XML/CSV File From URL. If it is not possible to use the parametrized URL I would like a script where the RSS is processed and saved on a specific location on server so that can be processed than by the WP All Import plugin. This script should be enabled to be scheduled by cron. So it would be nice if the PHP does the 'transformation on the fly' by some parameter which specifies the RSS. I have multiple RSS feeds.
