Clean & Edit Scanned Documents

We have 58 TIFF files from a scanned document. Each file is one 19cm x 13.5cm page (about 1/2 of A4) scanned from an instruction manual. We need text removed from these files and the remaining background cleaned up. The process goes as follows: 1. Straighten the page. 2. Crop the file so that only the page itself remains. (Remove black edges and staple marks.) 3. Remove all text that needs removal, making sure the resulting blank area approximately matches the surrounding area. 4. Select and smooth the background areas. Generally there are 2 or 3 colors that need smoothing. We use the Photoshop "Blur Average" tool to do this. 5. Use the Photoshop "Sharpen Edges" tool to sharpen the resulting image. 6. Save as TIFF file. 7. Done! I have uploaded three typical sample pages showing the original scanned pages and the resulting cleaned pages. The instruction manual we need done this time is identical in format and size.
