I'm a C# .NET developer from South Africa with 7 years experience. I work as a software developer for a vehicle tracking company. We build ERP systems using C# .NET, MS SQL Server, Windows Services, Web Services, etc.
In my free time I like to look at other development areas, and I'm especially interested in game programming.
I don't have any experience.
I've looked at UDK and I liked the fact that the engine does most of the heavy lifting for you.
I also looked at Unity, from what I can gather is it is "easier" to deploy your game to multiple platforms.
My strong point is I have a lot of patience which translates into me spending hours looking for a bug. I'm also a bit of a pessimist, which helps me think of all the things that can go wrong. So I like to build in a lot of "checks" in my code to make sure it's less error prone.
I would like to gain experience in game development as I think it's an industry that will just keep on growing, and because it's not like the rest of the soul sucking nonsense you get out there ;)
