In order to work on either Windows 7 and Windows 8, then you could convert it to either Visual Studio .NET or Visual Foxpro .NET. This will warrant it will keep using the DB III database but the user interface only would be converted. Also it supports for rapid application development as the interface development would be simply drag and drop.

Since 1993 I'm developing software for accounting, fixed assets, human resources, stock management, inventory, production in several kind of database engines used among time, such as dBase IV, FoxPro, Postgresql, and since this year MS-SQL. For last ten years I was develop an ERP system used on a retail chain of shops, managing a network with 35 desktops/servers, spread into 7 locations, each one having one linux server with postgresql, 1 to 5 POS with frontend app, creditcard POS Vx510 and fiscal printer/cashregister, Bizerba or Digi weighing scales, 1 to 15 backoffice workstations with CRM, SRM, fixed assets, hr. Those facts - I think - could be a demonstration about my skills. If you consider this relevant for your job, let's go transform your old application. My idea looks like this: one server SQL MS-SQL or if you prefer, could be Open-source PostgreSQL whose performance is similar or even higher than microsoft's product, at a lower price (exactly 0$). several (...actually how many are installed now....) workstations with Borland Delphi (or, if you like, it's open-source FreePascal/Lazarus at 0$ license costs). I can transpose your program in Visual FoxPro. I need the DBFiles and code if possible... the entire project. I did it before.

Hello Sir, I can recreate a new program that is compatible with windows8 and can run on it without any problem. I have done similar task in my company I am working at for other clients. I would really appreciate the opportunity to work with you on your project. You were vague in your description, so obviously I cannot give you a detailed proposal at this point. However, I can tell you that I started my career over 35 years ago writing vertical market dBase applications. I have also coded in Clipper, FoxBASE, FoxPro, and Visual FoxPro on a wide variety of platforms. I still maintain several Visual FoxPro vertical market apps that I have written, but I realize that these technologies are no longer in active development and that programs need to change to be compatible with future platforms. There are several things that I would need to know about your project to discuss a specific direction for it. For instance, What type of data are you capturing? Do your dBase files have lots of indexes? Are you using memo fields? What type of searches does your application require? Is your application networked? What platform will it be running on? I would probably use MySQL or Postgresql for your data engine and decide what language framework would best suit your needs after we discussed the project. I look forward to hearing from you!
