Hi, Im a mechanical engineer with 7 years experience designing boats. I worked for a boat builder in Rhode Island, USA for over four years and during this time I was responsible for getting coast guard approval for 3 boats under Sub-chapter T (small passenger vessels). This included hull structure drawings, inboard and outboard profiles, machinery installations, bilge pump arrangements, electrical drawings, life saving equipment, etc. The drawings and information required will depend on what sub-chapter you are applying under and if any sister vessels have been approved in the past. If stability calculations are required you will need to employ the services of a naval architect to do this for you as well. Stability calcs can be done from the drawings and the coast guard will sometimes require a stability test, so its best to use a local naval architect who will be able to preform the stability test for you in the water. As this work will be carried out remotely I will require a reasonable amount of on site assistance from yourselves in taking measurements and photos and noting part numbers. Having experienced the process firsthand several times, this is not a job that can be quoted on a fixed price. Therefore I have quoted you a daily rate. I am efficient at drawing, understand the MSC processes and have a legitimate copy of Inventor and AutoCad. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this further. Regards, Mike Bush
