Change instance type - AMAZON AWS EC2

Hello,

I have an instance which is Medium right now and I would like to change the instance type to Large \ X Large.

For some reason I can not do it .. I think it has to do with 32 bit and 64 bit instances.

Which means What I have to do is actually to duplicate the instance and then make a Large \ x Large one .. (New)

Please help me :)
