Consulting Joomla vs. WordPress for Large Info Site

I have a large html information archive site at WorldSweeper.com. I want to move it to Joomla or Wordpress. Currently have up to 5 levels of parent/child/grandchild folder relationships.

I want to be able to archive and access most all the stories that I have collected through the years. Most are still pertinent. Looking to make it a spiffier design as well as automate adding new stories, press releases and other material and find ways to put ads throughout the site with all the stories, etc.

I have a Joomla site re-design, but now understand WordPress can have unlimited parent/child subfolder relationships so wonder if I should go with WordPress instead. Need a consultant who knows both who I can reach by phone as well as email in order to discuss the merits and which way to go. Will also be adding a shopping cart module, but that can, of course, be standalone.

Will pay by the hour for whatever work is done; consulting, etc.
