I need a polished nice-looking and technically sophisticated Excel workbook capable in both the 2003 and 2010 version of Excel, to make selected combustion calculations, using both cell formulas and macros. A rough outline ([login to view URL]) and an example of a commercial Excel workbook (Available heat [login to view URL]) for a natural gas combustion material balance are provided. More project description is on the attached Word document Excess Air Combustion Calculator Setup.doc. [login to view URL] has embedded WordPad documents that are part of the bid request. The objective is to prompt a user to enter information about the amount and composition of natural gas and air that enter a burner. Based on provided chemical and technical data, the program will calculate the composition and quantity of the combustion gas, and various other combustion parameters. The worker needs good knowledge of Excel, Visual Basic, creation of drop-down dialog boxes, and charting of results. In addition, the worker needs good knowledge of engineering chemistry, stoichiometry, and chemical reactions. The product workbook will be marketed to industrial users of natural gas, and will be the subject of a magazine article. The programmer will be given written credit in any publication, and on the workbook. Later, bids will be requested to extend the program to make a heat balance. Read the attached information carefully before submitting a bid. Your bid must include a description of your work plan for the project or it will be rejected. A bid will not be accepted until *at least* 4 days after it is posted, so do not bid in haste. Your bid should include an amount that compensates you for some small project specification changes. Please allow for some adjustment of the objectives if they turn out to be impractical, or the bidder discovers a better way than suggested. Choice of a bidder is based as much on the bidder's qualifications as it is on price. ## Deliverables Deliverables 1. A natural gas material and heat balance workbook for calculating the composition and other properties of combustion products for a user-supplied single set of entry values, or from a range of user-supplied data. The user supplies the composition, temperature, and pressure of the natural gas, the dew point temperature or the % relative humidity of the air, and the quantity, composition, temperature, and pressure of industrial oxygen entering the combustion products. The calculational basis is one mass, volume, or mole unit of natural gas. 2. User-defined input values are converted to SI units and volumes are converted to STP for calculational purposes. 3. The program makes a material balance to calculate the stoichiometric amount of oxygen for the combustion of one unit of natural gas, and alerts the user if the specified amount of oxygen (from air and industrial oxygen) is not in excess of the stoichiometric requirement for complete combustion of one unit of natural gas. If oxygen is in excess, the program calculates the composition and quantity of offgas, either from a single set of input values, or a range of input values. 4. The program can make a series of material balances to show how selected output values change with changes in one or more input values. The program allows what-if analysis to allow back-calculation, such as Excel's Goal Seek tool, or one of your devising. See attached Excel program GSPlus as resource help. 5. The program makes subsidiary calculations similar to those on the Available heat [login to view URL] workbook, such as mass and STP volume flow of offgas, composition of flue gas in mass and volume %, and mass and volume quantities (wet and dry basis), and offgas flow as a function of one unit (mass, volume, mole) of natural gas. 6. The program displays tabular results in the units selected originally (SI or AES). In addition, results in SI units are always provided for non-SI input units; These results are displayed to enhance charting. Both volume and mass results are displayed. 7. The program follows the general strategy of an example set out in worksheet CombustCalculator.xls. 8. Assist the buyer in developing an instructional guide for using the program.
