I have a Chrome extension, cqstyle, that edits CSS. I want to be able to store that CSS on the user's filesystem but Chrome does not allow this. The HTML5 FileSaver and FileWriter api's do not allow the combination of saving anywhere with unprompted access and have not even been implemented by Chrome yet anyway. So, I want to create a small python app that allows files to be saved (no need to open since that's done through the stylesheet link). The files will get saved via AJAX POST requests from cqstyle. A shared key system will be setup to prevent random extensions and other requests from saving over files.
I will open source the app. Also, with your permission, I will put your name on it with a committer status.
I've created a simple prototype that you can use for reference. <[login to view URL]> more at: [login to view URL]
