The subject For the final project you will put together a complete and meaningful website utilizing the techniques discussed during the quarter. Pick one of the following topics for your website: * A fictional museum. The type of exhibit is up to you. It can be modern art, architecture, photography, hall of fame museum, or other topics you are interested in. * a website for a student group or other group; * a fan club website for a band, sports, or other interest of yours; * a company website for a small, **fictional**, company The Web site structure Your site should contain at least **7 pages** as described below: * 1. **Five substantial** pages including a **homepage** for the site (not a personal homepage) 2. At least **two secondary pages** 1. **Order form** . You should have an order form that allows users to order/purchase products from your site. *(15 points)* * The form should allow the user to enter the number of each product (at least three different ones) that they would like to purchase. (10 points) * The total purchase amount should be automatically calculated using JavaScript. * They must be able to enter their name, address, credit card, and shipping option. Make the credit card a 5 digit number so that no one can enter a real number! * JavaScript: form entries should be validated using JavaScript functions (check that valid numbers and all required fields have been entered. If the form entries are not valid, the user should be told which items are incorrect (dialogs ok). When the user submits the form, the total should be calculated (if it hasn't been already). * * * * 1. *CONTINUED BELOW* ## Deliverables One credits page . It should include your name and email address (for all team members, if working on a team). Since this is not a graphic design course, I fully understand that you may use images, backgrounds and other materials from other web sites. However, you must cite all uses of external materials (images, scripts, etc.) On this page, include links to the sources of the material that you did not produce yourself. This includes referencing the class material if necessary. Remember that you are EXPECTED to develop the HTML code and the JavaScript code. NO "copy and paste" of chunks of JavaScript code from some online library will be accepted. *(15 points)* **Slide Show/Gallery** . One of your pages should contain an automatic slide show that allows the user to sequence through a collection of images or documents of interest. You should implement this with JavaScript. The show should either load images in the current page or open up a new browser windows to display the images (JavaScript). *(10 points)* 1. **DHTML** Use JavaScript to provide at least another dynamic effects, in addition to the slideshow. The simplest of which are a "mouseover", having a date field that updates dynamically and/or popup windows using [login to view URL](). *(10 points)* 2. **Cascading Style Sheets** You MUST USE Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to give a consistent look and color scheme to each of the pages on your site (much easier with external style sheets). *(15 points)* 3. **Navigation** You must have a consistent navigation scheme for your website. This applies to your main pages, and the secondary pages, although secondary pages may have a simplified navigation bar. There are many ways that you may choose to do this: clickable images, imagemaps, or simple anchors using tables for layout. Whatever you choose, it should be easy to use and visually appealing. *(15 points) * All pages should be placed in a **folder called FINAL.** I will then upload the folder to my server for the teacher to view Design and Layout *(20 points)* You should design your website on paper before you start implementing it. Plan how you will accommodate each of these requirements. Decide how many pages you will have, what each page will contain, what the layout of each page will be, how the user will navigate, and how you will implement these. You will be graded on the design of your site. Is it consistent? Complete? This is much easier to achieve if you design your site first! Your site should also have a consistent layout and style. Use tables and CSS styles to achieve the layout. You may consider the site separate from your ECT270 site so the overall look may be quite different, but make sure you maintain consistency within the final project site. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. ## Platform xp latest version of IE and Netscape
