Write a one page topic proposal (12” font, double-spaced). What topic, whether specific or general, would you like to focus upon and develop through the research process?
An annotated bibliography has two parts: 1) The first part is the bibliography line which should be written according to the format your teacher requires (APSA, for this class). 2) The second part is the summary paragraph. Your sources should appear in alphabetical order according to the author’s last name.
The summary for each of your sources should include the following elements:
1. A sentence or two that describes the author's purpose, thesis or hypothesis.
2. A sentence or two that is a brief summary of its content.
3. A sentence at the end of the summary that explains how or why the source is relevant your research.
For this assignment, you must collect two academic sources for your research paper and create an annotated bibliography with them. Each of the sources must come from either an academic journal or book. This assignment is also intended to ensure that you know how to cite your sources correctly in a reference page, so use the APSA style guide (attached and posted on Moodle) to help you format those. APSA is a standard citation format in political science and as political researchers it is important that you know how to appropriately cite your sources.
