I am writing in response to your advert for a Massive sound designer. I am a long-time user of NI products, and currently work as a composer and sound designer. I have a highly technical background, with an honours degree in Electronics. I was formerly a resident engineer and producer at London's Abbey Road Studios. Here is a little about my background: I have nearly 25 years experience in working on sound for picture, and have written the music and sound designed for many productions, including films and TV series for BBC, ITV1, Sky One, Five, UKTV, Virgin and Discovery channels. With Phil Collins, I co-wrote and produced the score, and performed the sound mix, to Arktos - the documentary film about Mike Horn's 2 year solo voyage around the arctic circle. I composed the scores for the award winning films, The Un-Gone, End Of The Road and Magic Hour for Simplistic Films/Sky. I co-composed the score for Titanic Town (BBC Films), and additional music for The Long Run and the Dinotopia mini series (Hallmark). My film music production credits include the BAFTA and Brit award-winning Notting Hill, Thirteen Days, From Hell, Dark City, Desperate Measures. Working with Sting on The Mighty produced a Golden Globe nomination. Music editing work on Batman Begins resulted in an MPSE Golden Reel Nomination. TV film music production credits include the soundtracks for the Emmy award-winning Merlin, Cleopatra and Dinotopia mini series. Recent advertising clients include Motorola, Rolls Royce (3 projects) and Cadbury. In addition to composition work, I also offer other services, listed below with examples of experience in that field: Sound Design (recently completed 52 episodes of cinematic quality sound design for Chorion/Impossible TV for the new flagship HD animated series Gaspard and Lisa). Music Production (produced or engineered recordings for many artistes including Sting, Elvis Costello, Phil Collins, Vanessa Mae, Boyzone, Shania Twain, Ronan Keating, Roger Daltry, Chesney Hawkes, The Stranglers and Jeff Wayne’s The War Of The Worlds reissue; representing tens of millions of sales around the world. I produced the first songs for the pop string quartet girl band “Bond”, whose debut album, Born, sold over 2 million copies). TV film credits include arranging/programming and engineering the soundtracks for the Emmy award-winning Merlin, Cleopatra and Dinotopia mini series. All work can be completed entirely in-house at my studio, which is equipped with Pro Tools 9 HD, LE and native rigs, and two Logic Pro 9 rigs.
