33271 Yellow page lookup and more

The following outline describes in detail the aspects and expectations of work needed for this project. Both programming as well as web design elements are needed and are outlined together in this document. If you are viewing this document and plan to bid, you will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement Currently [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] exist as a “Online Coupon web site.” The purpose of the site is to provide visitors with local coupons to local stores and retail businesses in their towns. The current program allows the visitor to either search for coupons by Category, Keyword. More importantly the visitor can search any US zip code. (We installed a zip code database into the program.) There are only 50 or so advertisers currently on the site, mostly located in New York. So, a zip code search outside a 50 mile radius of the zip code 11791 will not turn up any results. The program which runs the site is a “Cold Fusion” data base. Serious bidders can request access to the site control panel and coupon program administor control panel. Currently, the only coupons that visitors can view are any that are already loaded into the system. So, if a visitor wanted a coupon for “Bill's Pizza Parlor” but they were not listed on our site…a coupon for Bill's would not show up. Our goal is to change this basic limitation of the site. We will now incorporate a “Yellow Page Lookup” feature. We will lease the use of the DOTS Yellow Page Lookup database. (GO TO: [login to view URL] see their “Yellow Page” product.) This database offers millions of retail stores throughout the United States. By leasing the use of their database, our visitors can now find stores whether or not they are actually on the CouponBoss site. (We currently have a license key to use while this project is being built) Here's how it should work: The home page will now invite the visitor to simply type in their zip code, town and the type of store they would like a coupon from. It will look very much like a Yellow Page Lookup Page! (Using our existing home page...strip out the middle section...put in the yellow page submit fields...also strip out the coupon categories on the lefthand side..no longer relevant) The results page will actually search 2 databases: 1. First, this page will reveal all the matching businesses for the location the visitor choose from the Yellow Page lookup server. The DOTS database we're leasing provides the basic Name, Tel., Address information. For example Syosset, NY 11791 “Pizza” will reveal all the Pizza parlors in Syosset and within a designated radius. 2. Secondly, (and this is the challenge because our data base searches by keyword, zip code, not a catid like the yellow page database) the results page will parse our existing coupon database. Now, if there are any “Pizza” coupons already on our site…they will appear at the top of the results page in bold followed by the yellow page lookup results. (Keep in mind most searches will not have any coupons already loaded at first…then as the site progresses this will increase.) 3. Now next to each Yellow page result we need to add a REQUEST COUPON BUTTON link next to each result. The visitor selects “Bill's Pizza” and clicks on it's Request Coupon Button. This Button LINKS to another Window, a SURVEY PAGE that will prompt the visitor to answer questions. These questions are as follows: COPY Thank you for requesting a coupon for (Bill's Pizza). At COUPONBOSS, YOU'RE THE BOSS. How would you like to save money? Choose your coupon type! 1. Buy One Get One Free Coupon (check box) 2. Dollars Off Coupon ( check box) 3. Current Coupon Offered By the Store (check box) 4. Name Your Own Savings! (Text Box) 5. Your Name (Text Box) 6. Email (Text Box) 7. Address, Town, Zip (Text Boxes) 8. Select a Password and Username. You're the Boss so we will now work for you to get your coupon emailed to you as soon as its available. The visitor now clicks a submit button. This triggers a series of events: 1. The visitor (if they've already signed up with our site) is now taken to a Thank You page and prompted to request another coupon for another retail service they might need. 2. The visitor also has signed onto to our site. A new database of users needs to be created to accommodate this. We need to discuss if creating a VISITOR DATABASE complete with visitor information and usernames and passwords is the best approach. Also, a system where our site uses a cookie place on the visitor's computer to recognize him each time he returns. So, they don't have to fill out their email and personal info every time they request a coupon. (Need suggestions here from you!!) 3. The data that our visitor submitted and the data about “Bill's Pizza” parsed from the Yellow Page Lookup Data based is send to a separate data base for our sales department to use. (This data is used by our sales staff to contact Bill's Pizza to decide which kind of coupon to send our visitor. Also, Bill's Pizza is prompted to post his coupon on Couponboss.com. This way future searches for Pizza in this area will give Bill's Pizza top listing in the search and a “GET COUPON” button… to instantly print a coupon from our existing coupon database….as opposed to having a REQUEST COUPON done again.)
