This is NOT a job per say. Seeking out writers to submit fictional stories to upcoming anthology releases.
We are a small print company that is branching out towards ebooks and online writings.
We seek stories of 2,000-5,000 words, prose and poems, as well as graphic designers to help with illustrations.
Our first two anthologies are based on themes. One is called "shudder to think" based on scarey stories. The next is called "These Four Walls" which are stories based around one room, one house, or one building.
We accept submissions for each, and we wish to discuss with writer's their ideas, terms, and hopefully publish between 6-8 stories in each ebook. Both will be released with our first non fiction ebook (see our other adverts)- Spring of 2012.
We are accepting bids for one story. Please provide outline or basic synopsis. We pay flat fee and author gets byline and contact info publishing with book. In 2012 we have 15 anthologies, 5 non fiction, 3 fiction, 2 prose only, and one ongoing podcast that will be introduced,
I have not seen a lot of these projects here, so please be sure to ask questions and understand this is for FICTIONAL stories you write yourself, based on your own ideas!
Hello there, I'm a freelance writer from the U.K., with over three years' experience. I've written, co-written and ghostwritten various works of fiction in a range of genres. My bid of $50 is for one short story. Please see PM for more details. Thanks!
Hi, I'm a novelist and freelance ghost writer. Fiction is my specialty. I've written a story that I have NOT shopped around yet. It's about a boy who steps through a painting into another world. I think it would fit your anthology "Four Walls" edition perfectly. I'll need to go back over it and make sure it's ready, but I'm attaching the rough draft in the PM. I bid the lowest amount, because I love to write fiction. If you want more stories I can anything you want and very quickly (since you are looking for short stories). Please let me know what you think. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Hi
I have a story already written which I would like to submit for your scary stories anthology. It is called "The Haunting of Witch's Hill."
Please let me know how you would like to proceed.
I have read and understand the project well. I love doing fictional writing, and have done a lot of it.
I have one book published POD. I have many, many manuscripts near completion (just need editing) of various lengths.
I am attaching a sample by PMB. Thanks for any consideration.
I am a freelance writer, author and part-time teacher . I have just completed a 30 page ebook on online shooting games for another employer and I have written lots of short stories, poems and other works of fiction. I have a fantastic story for the 'Shudder to think' category called 'The Curse of Talib's Tomb. It is about some explorers who open a mysterious tomb unaware of the terrible consequences it will bring to them and their family. Please check PMB for a sample of my story. I would certainly enjoy a long term collaboration.
I have built a career out of my ability to imagine, create and use words to bring those creations to life for the reader. I read your requirements with excitement, and apply with the hope that you'll give me the opportunity to submit a short story in the category ´these four walls.´
Please see the PMB for a synopsis.

Hello
I have a story which may fit with your 2nd book about a man who travels through his life whilst lying in his bed with his girlfriend. His life takes the form of a long, long climb up a rope to an unreachable ceiling to which various boxes and family members are attached by further ropes. These boxes representing the things he should have achieved that he has achieved and those things that he hasn't. Then as he lies there a strange man in a balloon floats across him and changes everything.
Hello,
I have a historical fiction short story of a little over 3,000 words. It's about a night in Vienna, during WWII.
If interested, I'll submit it for your review.
I have several stories that fit the categories described. The stories have been previously published, but I have the rights to offer stories to other publishers. For scary, I have "The Rattling Door" . . . an old man lays awake all night beside a door. The old man is ill. The door rattles on and off all night. He fears an intruder is trying to break into his apartment. Real or imagination?
This story could also fit the "one-room category." For scary, I also have "The Shower" . . . a young woman has flashbacks as she takes a shower; she remembers lying awake feeling hands pulling at her bedcovers, remembers feeling them slips slowly off her, remembers believing that someone or some thing was lurking beneath her bed.
I have others also. All have been previously published.
Hello!
A project like this doesn't come up as often as I'd prefer so I'm really happy I found your Job Posting.
I have a few stories waiting to be continued and/or edited.
The one I'm working on right now is about a young boy and the people he sees. It is not really that scary when seen from the perspective of the boy. But the story is told from the perspective of his neighbor...and he doesnt see things as clearly as the boy does.
I have a few more on the way, so I'm really hoping to start working with you. I want to take this opportunity to talk to fellow creative writers and hone my skills on a different level.
I'm looking forward to working with you!
I love fiction writing and does it for a living. Here's a sample of my work, also published at redroom.com. My bid is for $100 for 10 high-quality fiction articles and stories. I guarantee quality output with no delay.
