I have a new potential 2 stage project - for an animal tracker -
Stage 1 - I need a small handheld battery powered location finder for a small animal underground (range of 5-8 meters) - which can accurately point from above ground to an animal wearing a tag which is underground. As the handheld finder gets closer to the animal it needs to have a audible signal to confirm and ideally a small display to show direction. Ideally it should have a sounder which indicates the depth of the animal underground (eg 1m from surface is louder than 4m from surface). I need to be able to tell how far down (roughly) from the surface the animal is and if it is stationary - if its moving roughly in which direction it is moving.
Stage 2 - will be to miniaturise and prototype a working design - will post this as a separate project.
