The following is a logo design brief for a company that is looking to EVOLVE their current logo, not create something that has no relation to the original logo. However, we are looking for something new - clean, simple something that works well with the Oracle logo as it is often used in the same materials.
Logo design will be AT LEAST 5 logo designs based on an evolution of the existing logo and tagline.
Colors must black, red and/or gray or any combination thereof. Additional colors should also be considered in addition to but logo must include at least red, black and/or gray. Tagline “concept 2 completion” should be used in at least one version of the logo.
While not required, variations on the tagline “from concept to completion” or “concept 2 completion” are encouraged.
We anticipate 2 rounds of revisions. The first will provide a short list back to the designer for a final selection.
Logo should work in black & white as well as color.
Final logo files delivered to include:
Vector-based files - Adobe Illustrator
.jgp / .png / .psd and .PDF
At least one version should have a transparent background
Font files and colors (RGB / CMYK and/or Hex)

About the brand idea: Concept 2 Completion
The idea of Concept to Completion comes from the idea that they can not only do every facet of an Oracle software solution from vision to delivery but also anything in between (i.e. working on existing software, doing small scale projects that only include part of the work flow process, etc.) Using the number 2 rather than the word just emphasizes that there is a mathematical/programming element to the work and prominent in the talent the company employs.
We want to evoke a sense of being strongly connected to the Oracle brand through color but we do not want to mimic the Oracle logo, rather create something that complements it.

Colors and Fonts
We had preliminary discussions on colors and fonts and generally lean away from yellows and turquoise pallets. Initial input from the client was that yellow, orange, turquoise, brown and purple were DEFINITELY not preferred over red/black/gray with either a blue or darker/lighter red. Fonts were not discussed in detail except that they prefer “clean” “rounded” as opposed to “jagged” or what looks like “pixelated” fonts.
