Java Image Processing

Hi, I am student seeking to improve my knowledge on Digital Image Processing in Java. I require someone to complete the following task with detailed documentation. 1. Write a program that reads JPEG-compressed greyscale image data into a BufferedImage and then iterates over all pixels in the image to determine the mean value, writing this information to a GUI. (Foundations and style of GUI in place and will be provided). The user can currently select and image and select and image directory. This leads me to part two... 2. Once the user has selected the image and the image directory, on click of the 'calculate mean' button (which is provided but has no functionality), the selected image and the images in the directory must be compared. The results will be displayed on the GUI going from most similar images to the least similar images. 'Similar' in this case means, the images from the directory with the closest mean value to the selected image. I am here to learn and this completed work is purely educational to help me understand image processing, there will be no extra rewards for making it overly fancy. The most important part is that it is well documented and coded so that I can learn and understand what is happening. Any questions, feel free to ask. There will be future work in this. Thanks
