Develop application for Windows Desktop and Mac OS

This specific posting is for a job to develop a simple windows and mac application that will take data from a web server and then display that data to the user (e.g. videos, audio and articles). That's all there is to it. Nothing too complex. Users should be able to download the app, and the app should have some sort of update functionality so that new versions can be pushed down to users. The app will also need to have some sort of notification system so that it can run in the background and alert users when new updates (videos, audio recordings, files) are pushed down from the server. So I guess the app will need some sort of download capability as well. Apart from the job mentioned above, we are also looking for a dedicated, hard-working and all-around *SOFTWARE* developer to join our team on a PERMANENT basis. You will be given regular work for up to 20 hours per week to start off with but *YOU MUST* be an expert in software development and be well-versed in OOP principles and the MVC architecture. The successful candidate will: (1) Have 2+ years of software development experience (2) Be familiar with the MVC coding style (3) Have strong skills in software development (Java/C++). (4) Be well-versed in web development languages like PHP & JavaScript (5) Write clean, well commented code according to the standards set by the particular framework or as instructed. (6) Communicate fluently in English and *MUST* reply within 24 hours at the latest. We are looking for candidates with the following qualities: (1) Dedication: Ability to work around 20 hours per week (2) Honesty: We are web developers as well, so when you try to lie about some work that should take for example 37 minutes and instead you round that off to 1 hour or maybe declare that as 2 hours, we will know. All candidates *MUST* submit examples of previous software development (not web development) experience as part of their bid.
