I have an application running on a Windows 2003 server with data hosted under SQL Server 2008. I need to display data from this host database on a separate Linux/PHP based website. I am not certain of an appropriate architecture, the winning proposal will outline the proposed structure of the solution.
I am familiar with the database and SQL portion of the project. There are just a few queries involved, such as:
1. A SELECT statement to get the current list of auto manufacturers in the database and populate a drop-down list box with the values.
2. Upon selection of Manufacturer in step 1, populate a second drop down list box with a SELECT statement of models for the chosen Manufacturer.
3. Once a Model is selected, populate via a SELECT statement a 3rd drop down list box with Years of manufacture of that model.
4. A final SELECT of records of parts matching the Manufacturer, Model and Year selected above.
