A small project to interface with the Myspace API to make searches there.

We need some basic code that uses their API to make a search and read the result and display it in HTML.

The search should be entered in a simple HTML form or as a URL with the search string and tags embedded in the URL. I.e. both POST and GET methods must work. This script will probably be used by another script on top of it.

All the features available in the API such as search for tags etc. should be translated to checkboxes and URL variables. This means that if for instance there are flags in the API for country limited search, they should be converted to a drop down or checkboxes a field etc. It is up to the developer to research the possibilities available in the API and make them available in the GUI.

The result from the search should be a simple HTML page. Since it should be possible to read the results from another script each result/hit should be formatted as follows. The result display should be two levels. The first level is just a list with the following items displayed as a list of separate entries. The result pages should not be AJAX or complex HTML.

Heading/Title/ID/User +

Link to the search result

When clicking the link, a more complete sub-page should be displayed with the following info. The info displayed should be as full as possible depending on what the API can give you.

Heading/Title/ID/User +

Quote with search result text +

Link to the search result

## Deliverables

It is important that the links are clickable and complete. For some APIs this means that GET parameter need to be included. For instance if we take the YouTube URL you can see that the after the ? we have a complete URL which we needed. The string has the GET parameter v= intact. This is good.. What we don't need is a URL which is somehow is serialized in the PHP code and the GET params lost. So if you parse the params properly and keep them internally in the script you are fine.

The platform used should be LAMP.

No design is necessary, the plainest simple possible HTML is fine. We are trying to save ourselves the time needed to read and understand the API spec. For someone who is already familiar with their API it should be a quick job.

The code must be clean and All PHP code and MySQL naming of table etc. Should follow these coding guidelines.

Also important, the project must be written in classic PHP, aka no Frameworks!
