It is really easy to write a simple script that will migrate all the data from MySql to PostGresql . A script reduces the amount of errors to almost 0. Manual entry is absolutely not the way to transfer data from one Database to another. This is something I have done before. It would take more time to analyze the current Database and decide on the new Database design than it would to write the code that does the work. Using PHP PDO It is super simple to query one database then migrate that data directly to another database. This would probably take me less than 40 hours more like 20 to 30. Basically all I need to do is extract the current databases Structure using MySQL workbench to create an sql file then feed that to PostGre to create the structure, then I simple migrate the data from MySQL to PostGre with a script that can migrate and then confirm that the data matches 100%. I've been doing this over 10 years so this is trivial to me, database design and migration is one of my strong skills.
