Modify PHP script to eliminate duplicate posts

I wrote a working script to select recent blog post entries from the MySQL database (e.g.: $number = 15). The script displays the ($number) most recent blog posts that have been commented on. **I need the script modified so it does not return duplicate posts.** I think the script modification can be accomplished in at least two ways: 1. Modify the MySQL query to ignore the duplicates (such as GROUP BY or DISTINCT), or, 2. Add VERY SHORT new code that will scrub the list of duplicates, e.g.: SELECT ~25 posts then use array and counter to delete duplicates and return a max of ($number) posts Please indicate your interest in this project.
