Short project description
We have developed a special dictation software as a standalone Windows desktop application. It makes use of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using the Google Cloud Speech API. What we need is a solution to manage access to our Google Cloud Account for each customer individually (scaling of customers should be able to 100 000 (hundred thousand) or more) and the functionality to measure/meter the usage of our dictation software for each client individually and permit or revoke access when the customers credits are use-up. The metering of usage has to be in a fine-granular manner. Best would be to meter on a level of each second, however billing calculations has to be in accordance with Google Cloud Speech API pricing. Our software uses the Google Cloud Speech API with gRPC streaming requests (We have overcome the 60sec. limit by repeatedly starting new requests).
The users will sign-up and purchase minutes of our service on a WordPress installation that runs on a Virtual Machine (VM) in the Azure Cloud (with static IP). This primary source of information about client credits needs to be integrated into the solution. Furthermore do we want to be able to offer 30 minutes of free trail for each new sign-up. These 30 minutes of free trail for each new customer/sign-up should be “counted” separately (either on a different service account or project) in our Google Cloud Console. For more details please read the entire document.
BTW: If you now think it could be a solution to programmatically create a new service account for each new customer, then we can tell you this is not an option for various reasons. Main reason: Google does not allow this kind of usage for service accounts.
How will you have access to the different systems
Our core source code for the Windows Client is managed in a private git at bitbucket.org. You will get access to this account and will work together with our Windows Client application developer. We will introduce you to him after assignment start.
To the VM you will have full access via Putty. What we need, to arrange that is your Open-SSH key.
Your Skillset
You should be well trained and experienced with the general concepts and functionalities of
1. OAuth 2.0 / JWT etc.
2. REST
3. WordPress
4. Google Cloud Platform
5. Linux OS
You should be well trained and experienced with at least the following programming languages:
1. C#
2. PHP (version 7.x any code you write should be compatible with the latest PHP version)
3. Linux command line
