Objective: Create a very simple dashboard to give store managers the ability to track very basic Daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which helps them to understand and address behaviors on the sales floor Through Power BI Mobile and Desktop .
History: I’ve been manually gathering information from sales reports in our POS and Traffic counters, and recording it on a excel spreadsheet, then I send a picture of the spreadsheet to my managers so they know which store is ahead in sales and why, on weekends I send that picture every other hour and it takes me being stuck in front of a computer collecting reports.
1. Traffic counter data
a. Collect number of people that have visited each store from opening hours through the moment the report is needed
b. See [login to view URL]
2. POS data:
a. Number of transactions per store
b. Total sales per store
c. Number of items sold per store
d. Total in Returns
1. Conversion of traffic: 20% (hard-set goal)
2. Average Sale: $68 (this is a variable target calculated based on combined store averages for the month)
3. Units per Transaction: 2 (hard-set goal)
I’d like to be able to change that as needed, but automatically updating dashboard every 5 min is a good start.
The default view should show sales of the day, but we need to be able to select ranges such as:
1. Week to date per store
2. Month to date per store
3. Year to date per store
4. User selected Date Range
Local DB servers send transaction deltas to Head Quarters DB Server through meshed VPN connection every 5 min.
